Hot days of Summer…
PRODUCTS
Bruster’s - According to a 7/13/10 email from Bruster’s,
the following Sorbet recipes are GFCF: Black Raspberry, Coconut, Lemon, Mango,
Peach, Strawberry & Pineapple. If you need to see the email trail to check
for other allergens, just let me know. Bruster’s does note
the possibility of cross-contamination, of course, so you may
want to enjoy only with enzymes.
Ocean City NJ TACOS - Visiting Ocean City, NJ this summer? Check
out Pure Tacos, an entirely gluten-free taco stand on the boardwalk, that also
cooks casein-free upon request. To learn more visit www.puretacos.com or http://glutenfreephilly.blogspot.com/2010/04/taco-shell.html.
Udi’s Bread – I’m getting emails all around
about this bread! Apparently the best on the market! I’m told it’s
soy-free and nut-free, but does contain eggs. Check it out in the frozen section
at The Healthy Grocer.
Wal-Mart – At the last meeting, someone mentioned that
Wal-Mart is now selling Bob’s Red Mill, Glutino, and more. They’re
not in a GF section, so you have to look around, but the prices are good.
.
Silk Almond Milk – Surprising since it’s from Silk,
but this milk is SOY-FREE.
General Mill’s Chex cereals - Five of General Mill’s
Chex cereals have now gone GF – Rice, Corn, Honey Nut, Chocolate, and
Cinnamon. Read the labels yourself to check for casein.
Orville Redenbacher’s Natural Simply Salted Microwave Popcorn - If
you’re looking for a GFCF microwave popcorn, check this out: corn, oil,
and salt. That’s it!
Isaac’s GFCF flatbread - You can purchase this from the
restaurant. (One GFCF-er did this at the one on 114 and the Carlisle Pike near
Wal-Mart.) Cost was $9 for 6 large flatbreads. As always when I put things like
this in a handout, I did a net search to try to confirm it’s GFCF status.
I couldn’t find the information, so please be sure to double-check for
yourself.
Enjoy Life - Enjoy Life is out with granola. We tried the Cranapple
Crunch and enjoyed it!
